6 Bucket List Excursions in Australia

As our bucket lists get longer, Australia is most certainly on many if not most of them. Beautiful beaches, bustling cities, outback adventures, world-class food, nature and wildlife - Australia has it all! Today’s blog post digs deeper and highlights six key things that you can get up to in Sydney that if they aren’t on your bucket list already, they hopefully will be once you’ve had a read.

1. Sydney Harbour Explorer Cruise

Seeing the Sydney Harbour is a must when visiting Australia. If you fancy a more relaxing experience away from many tourists, you can cruise through the beautiful Sydney Harbour - a great way to see the sights of the world-famous harbour at your own pace. It’s also a fantastic photo opportunity! You can hop-on and hop-off at Darling Harbour, Watsons Bay, Luna Park, Circular Quay and Taronga Zoo, which leads us onto the next highlight…

2. Taronga Zoo

If you’re dreaming of discovering Australia's amazing wildlife, then where better to visit than Australia’s largest zoo. Meet koala’s, kangeroos, sun bears and many more. You can also ride the Sky Safari Gondola where you’ll soak up breathtaking Sydney Harbour views and watch Asian Elephant herds play from above. A truly special moment!

3. Bondi Surf Lesson

You can’t go to Australia without visiting Bondi Beach and learning how to surf, no matter how good or bad you think you may be, it’s about immersing yourself into the ‘aussie’ lifestyle. You never know, you may surprise yourself!

4. Blue Mountains

If you want to see more of your favourite Australian wildlife, head to the Blue Mountains. This world heritage site is the home of native Australian animals, including koalas, kangaroos and wallabies. You will also travel through picturesque villages and see beautiful waterfalls and views, such as the famous Three Sisters. Pretty as a picture!

5. Hunter Valley Wine Experience

All that walking will make you thirsty! Head to the Hunter Valley vineyards and learn about the wine-making process (and have a tipple or two!) in the beautiful Australian countryside. You'll also enjoy a delicious lunch made from local produce while you sample some of the area's best wines. Plus, after spending the afternoon at the award-wining McGuigans Winery and taking part in a private group tasting, visit the cellar door where you can purchase a bottle or two to take home for family and friends…or yourself! This is a fantastic full day experience that wine lovers won’t want to miss.

6. Sydney Bridge Climb Summit

If you’re an adrenaline junkie, what more could you want out of your trip to Sydney than an exhilarating and memorable adventure, climbing one the world's most iconic modern structures. You’ll get the best 360º views of Sydney Harbour as you’ll reach heights of 134 meters.

The Perfect 4 Day Lapland Itinerary

There’s plenty of magic in the air when a family travels to Lapland. There are so many special memories to be made that will be truly treasured forever. In today’s blog post, we’re going to run you through an enchanting four-day itinerary that you can look forward to during the festive season this year.

DAY 1

Today is the day, you have arrived in a winter wonderland! It’s time to head to your home away from home, Hotel Levi Panorama; a beautiful hotel in a stunning location at the top of Levi fell with wonderful wide-reaching views over the ski slopes, Levi resort and the surrounding winter landscape. After spending a while admiring the fantastic views, collect your complimentary thermal suits and boots, which will keep you warm, toasty and cosy throughout the duration of your stay. It’s time to explore! Discover snowy surroundings, build snowmen, ride a toboggan and have a snowball fight.

DAY 2

The time has come to meet the big man himself. This is an experience that is just as magical for the adults as it is children. You will spend half a day at Santa’s enchanting workshop. You’ll enjoy a private meet and greet with Santa, don’t forget to give him your letter! You can also take part in festive games, cook on an open fire, bake gingerbread biscuits with the elves and make your own decorations in Elf School. You’ll also meet Comet the Reindeer himself or have great fun tobogganing in the snow.

DAY 3

Discover all that Levi has to offer, and no, not the jeans! Levi is a very popular resort with a lively village centre with plenty for all of the family to enjoy. A wide selection of souvenir shops, cafés, bars and restaurants can be found on festively lit streets, all within easy walking distance from Hotel Levi Panorama. You may use the convenient Levi Summit gondola, which departs from outside the hotel and takes less than 5 minutes directly into the centre of Levi. You’ll receive a free day ticket for each day of stay (excluding day of departure).

Alternatively, why not book a Husky & Reindeer Safari?^ This is an animal lover's dream. Meet some of Santa's reindeer deep in their natural habitat. Enjoy a romantic reindeer sleigh ride across the snowy landscape as you’re served delicious hot fruit juice and cake. Learn about their way of life from local Sámi herders. You’ll then visit the huskies in their nearby cosy wilderness home. Watch them huddle around a campfire inside a traditional Lappish Kota hut. See the husky puppies and enjoy a 2km dog-sled ride through the sparkling winter landscape.

For those looking for a quicker ride, Snowmobile safaris are also available^. Experience an exhilarating 25km ride through beautiful scenery, snow-laden forests and frozen lakes. You can either drive the snowmobile on your own or with a sharing passenger. Children either share with an adult or are towed in a covered sled behind the guide.

On your final night, get ready to enjoy an evening of party games and a disco, with certificates being given to the children. Tuck into a buffet of traditional roast turkey Christmas dinner plus Lappish specialities. A Christmas dinner you will never forget! All children will also receive a small gift that can be treasured for years to come.

DAY 4

After four of the most magical few days of your lives, it’s time to enjoy your last breakfast whilst looking out over a beautiful white landscape and head to the airport for your flight home. You’ll be sad to leave, but the special memories made on your trip will last a lifetime…
